It is just 5 minutes from Lake Shelbyville, but out in the country where the views and the tranquility of the farm make it seem like you are in your own little paradise! It has 2 large bedrooms that sleep a total of 4 people ( one of the bedrooms is a suite with a bath of its own, 2 sitting chairs and its own dining table), 2 full bathrooms, a large eat in kitchen, an adjoining dining room, an inviting living room for great conversations, a patio with a grill and seating to cook out and take in all the scenery, a laundry room with a washer and dryer, electric plugs for boats, and plenty of parking for your boats, cars and trucks! There is a maximum length of stay of 10 days. If longer is needed you will have to contact and approve through owners. Kimble's Farmhouse sets on a beautiful hill in the middle of an 80 acre farm that Kimble purchased in 1959 when he was just 19 years old. It is a working farm where guests can look down over the hillside and see a breathtaking view of the landscape, including cattle that sprinkle the hillside. The cattle are fed every evening in the feedlot and guests can watch as they come running up the hill and are fed at the silo. There are, at times, bottle calves and guests can witness those feedings as well and try your hand at it, if you would like! There will be corn and bean plantings in the spring and corn and bean harvests in the fall on the farm. If you are lucky enough to be there during harvest time, you can probably hitch a combine ride! Full kitchen with basic cooking needs and laundry available. The yard is beautiful and filled with flowers. We have chickens on the property so fresh eggs are available anytime. We put in a huge garden every year so fresh vegetables are also available, in season. The yard fills with pollinators, Monarchs and Swallowtails in mass, as we do not use any pesticides and are putting in native Illinois plants throughout the yard. We also have a koi pond with waterfall.

We gutted the house down to the studs and rebuilt it from the foundation up. My husband and I did most of the work ourselves...which is why it’s taken so long! :) The house was originally built in eighteen fifty-nine as a single-family home. Over the years several additions were built on to the original structure. Sometime in the late nineteen thirties it was converted into a triplex. When we renovated the property we left it as a triplex. The dragonfly apartment is the front apartment, my husband and I live upstairs and there is another smaller airbnb apartment in back. About two years into the renovation we ran out of money so to finish the project we had to get creative. This apartment was finished with; second hand finds, scavenged and re-purposed items, hope and prayer. :) We allowed ourselves to be creative and have fun and this apartment is the result. Almost every item in the apartment has a story. We poured our hearts into this apartment, we love it and love sharing it with people. We do allow pets, please no more than two though. :)

Very quiet, cozy and secluded. Sunset views from the living room. Gorgeous tiered koi pond in front yard, in spring and summer endless flowers. We do not use any poisons in the yard, and have created a large butterfly garden and every year we get more and more butterflies! Monarchs are Swallowtails are the most plentiful, but we get a wide variety. In the back yard is our chicken coop, we currently only have 7 stingy non laying chickens. Spring 2020 we will have 5 new little chicks and hopefully they'll be more cooperative than our old girls. :) We are just about done with a total remodel of the house/tri-plex - its been a tri-plex since the 1940's. We live upstairs. The overall renovation project is about 95% complete. This place is an opportunity to stay in a truly unique home, on an acre lot in the middle of the Historic West side. We also own a duplex on the property and have that set up as airbnb rentals as well. When the weather cooperates the backyard is irresistible. We put in a giant vegetable garden every year. The Harrison House is a beautifully decorated 2-bedroom house that is in a safe neighborhood. The beds are queen memory foam mattresses. All the furnishings are new or nearly new. It has a fenced in backyard. KIDS and PETS ARE WELCOME. There is a back deck that is great for lounging on as well as a covered front porch. There is 100 meg wireless internet. Netflix is logged in on the tv. There is NO CABLE TV.

Our lodge sits above Lake Shelbyville, a 11,000 acre lake, offers boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and hunting. FireFly Lodge is cozy with a fully equipped kitchen, tiled bathrooms, deck wraps around 3 sides of the house, picturesque lake view, wheel chair accessible on first and second levels, situated on 5 1/2 acres along the wooded shoreline of Lake Shelbyville. Our lodge is great for family gatherings, couples, business travelers, and families (with kids).

My home is close (within a few minutes) to Washington Park, Restaurants and Dining, White Oaks Mall, Memorial & St. John's Hospital, State Fairgrounds, historic downtown and Abraham Lincoln Museum/Library, Tomb, Law Offices and Old State Capitol . You’ll love my home because of the neighborhood, the Loom & Leaf organic memory foam beds (superior to Tempurpedic), the fully equipped and stocked gourmet kitchen with modern high end appliances, the coziness, three levels for privacy including home entertainment system on lower level. My home is good for couples, business travelers, and families including children. This is my personal vacation home and is optimally furnished and equipped for the entire family, bring your clothes and toothbrush, everything else is provided beyond your food and beverages! The Loom and Leaf mattresses fare far superior to Tempurpedic and other cheap uncomfortable mattresses most others and hotels use. They cost up to 1,000% more than the cheap mattresses so most do not pay the extra cost. Two sets of modern new washers and dryers plus fully equipped kitchen to cook gourmet meals. The neighborhood: Super high quality homes and neighbors, very safe, lots of trees, very quiet neighborhood with lots of places to ride bikes and walk. 3 - 10 minutes to most all places I listed in Springfield IL for things to do, Lincoln attractions, historic downtown, dining, mall, etc. Getting around: Uber and Left are quite active in Springfield and provide excellent quick service I have personally used them. The SPI airport has flights from Dallas or Chicago via American Airlines. The STL airport in St Louis is a major international airport with non stop flights from most major cities and is only a 1.5 hour drive. I often fly into STL and rent a car there. SPI airport has rental cars also. Guest access: 100% access including garage. Interaction with guests: You are welcome to email or call or text my cell for any problems, advice or questions, I grew up in IL and know they area very well. Other things to note: I have extra beds in basement bedroom they are fold away foam mattresses, this foam mattress is far more comfortable compared to air mattresses and has its own support frame so you are not sleeping on floor. I have also now purchased two additional (three total) fold away foam mattress twin size beds so 12 can sleep comfortably in Home. The master is a king size bed, three bedrooms have queen size beds. A twin size bed has been added to basement.

Located on 40 acres of secluded tranquility. It's rustic but it's not roughing it. Enjoy the view from the spacious deck overlooking rolling hills of timber, native grasslands and a large creek. Abundant wildlife (deer, turkeys, coyotes, foxes, squirrels, etc.) for viewing and hiking trails to experience the unspoiled habitat. The property is located at the end of an all-season road. You're likely to see absolutely no one except for your family/friends for the entire stay.

Beautiful 4 bedroom 3 bathroom 3100sf ranch with spacious patio, a propane-fired pizza oven and grill on 1.6 acres. 4 car garage parking with two big driveways. Only a mile away from farm progress show so you don't have to sit in hours of traffic. Plenty of room for RVs or big trailers. and plenty of room in the shop to store side by sides or golf carts. Ica n also include a gulf cart if needed for an additional cost.

This approximately 6000 square foot private residence has been featured in numerous magazines, including Romantic Home. The owner is a long-time interior designer who has decorated homes from Costa Rica to the British Virgin Islands and from Telluride to Naples, FL. Mostly, she has made central Illinois her focus. The Grand Old Church has a 1200 Sq Ft Sanctuary/living room, a library, a billiard table, 2 full baths, and two half baths. Loami is a village located about 15 minutes from Springfield and its numerous historic sites, and it is also only 35 minutes from Abraham Lincoln's New Salem Historic Village. The Church and the attached one-time General Store will accommodate 11 comfortably. Within the past 5 years, 2 wineries have sprung up within 5 miles of the village and the Country Market offers a good burger and beer. Numerous dining options await within a short drive.

To ensure your experience is as authentic as possible, Hidden Ridge is off grid. There is no electricity; enough water is provided for quick showers and bathroom use. Enjoy firelight, lanterns and cooking on an open fire or grill! We do provide cooking essentials. Winter heating is provided by a small propane heater. A gallon of drinking water is provided.
